INTRODUCTION

The Kano State Agricultural and Rural Development Authority (KNARDA) is a government organization located in Kano State, Nigeria. It is in charge of directing state-wide agricultural and rural development initiatives and to promote sustainable agricultural development and improve the livelihood of rural communities across Kano State, Nigeria.
MISSION AND VISSION

KNARDA's main goal is to support and expand the agricultural industry by putting into practice policies, initiatives, and projects that improve agricultural production, food security, and rural livelihoods. HISTORY OF ESTERBLISHMENT

KNARDA was established as an Agricultural Development Project (ADP) after the apparent efficacy of the World Bank-financed ADPs in Gombe, Funtua, and Gusau in 1975.

RID Department is initiated in 1992 by Federal Agricultural Coordinating Unit, with a view to sensitize poor rural people to organize themselves into viable self help groups, to revitalise existing once and to strengthen the capacity of women and men groups, to design, implement, manage and control own development initiatives.
